Well First off i'd like to say congrats to the Tigers for winning it all and going undefeated! You guys were by far the best team we played this season! i wish we could of played you to give you at least some competition for the shirts ha-ha but it is what it is my hats off to you guys! congrats and good luck next season.

Now for Bamf, what happened today was crap! come on keep your damn sideline under control and take the lose like men, we got a kid knocked to the ground by some older douche bag that wasn't even on the team because his little douche bag brother fell to the ground! later we got some old dad holding another player on our team down so another kid "not on the team" can kick and shatter one of our team mates nose and he gets sent to the E.R ! Well guess what bamf! Congrats you got your asses kicked on and off of the field! whoever tackled pete who didn't even try for the flag might i add got F**ked up till daddy came along and the little guy that called out kevin your lucky it ended when it did or the same would of happened to you! we might not be able to play for the championships in this league! but we beat you guys once earlier in the season than knocked your asses out of the playoffs you get pissed and pick a fight with a team that the average player is only 18-20 years old, most of us just graduating this year. you guys are all much older than that and yet you still need big brother and dad there to help fight a fight you started! so in the end what did you really prove today, what did you accomplish? once again Congrats Pussies!

For the league, I have played in this league for three years and i really enjoy it! never has anything like this happened to any of my past teams! I'm sorry that what happened happened and I'm sure its a hassle for you to deal with. My fear is if this keeps happening much longer i don't see there being flag football for us all to enjoy! however i have one major issue right now with the way it was handled on your part! first off its a two possession game we are up we get a pick all we have to do is run the ball, run out the clock its over! there was already players ejected and a fan for a little scuffle we had earlier in the game not to mention another scuffle the first time we played them! why not just call the game give us the win! it is impossible for them to come back lets end it there and move on. this is all avoided! and than the tigers have to earn the championship not just have it given to them! the first time we played them we lost 23-16 in overtime! that would of been one Hell of a game for the championship even if it is only the C league! we worked hard every week to get where we were and our scores against other teams prove that! I feel like we got the short end of the stick here it really isn't fair

I feel jipped that we weren't able to play you guys either. I thought that both BAMF and your team (Pirates) acted like a bunch of idiots in the first place with all the fighting. Even after everything was done some of your team tried to pursue the fight...GROW UP! I was really looking forward to playing you guys in the championship game especially since last time we met we were missing our entire O and D line, and only had 8 guys. Either way, it was a fun season and I hope none of this bull crap happens again in any of the leagues!! Next season lets all try focusing on showing up to play some football instead of seeing who can run their mouth the loudest! Later fellas!!

Both teams did have players that acted like idiots thats why the game should have never continued after the pick it should of ended there! but looking at it from our view they held a team mate down so someone could kick him in the face and break his nose! of course we were pissed! of course we wanted to beat the shit out of them! who wouldn't? most of our team has been playing together since little league all the way through high school! and we have always been there for each other on and off the field! now put your self in our position and that happened to someone on your team? you don't think that some of the guys on your team wouldn't have acted without thinking things through? i guarantee that just about every team in this league would of had people that acted in the same way we did right wrong or indifferent. but i must say that personally my only regret is not being able to play your team in the championship! Once again congrats to you and your team best of luck next season

While it does suck that we didn't have to play to win the championship, that fight and ALL fights over rec league flag football are ridiculous. Is this really the most important thing in the world? You know what we got for being champs? A t-shirt dude, wow! If someone starts crap with your team you know what the best thing to do is? Shut up and let the idiot who started it get penalized, kicked out and go win the game. The mercy rule applies at 2:00 or less and you have to be up by 3 scores. When we played the Pirates Mr. shades himself # 16 the ultra tough guy spiked the ball in our guys face while he was down. You remember why he did that? Because our guy tried to rip the ball out of his hands from the top of his jump until he was on the ground and the whistle blew. Our guy got a ball in the face for playing hard and fair! That's really classy. Trust me when I say that there are no NFL scouts out there watching us, nobody cares what you did in high school, it's rec league football! Let's all grow up and just play! Nobody's out there for the sole purpose of hurting people (except maybe Shield Zone) or screwing a team over. Let the refs do their job, they are pretty good at it and they're there for a reason.

once again we weren't about to let someone hold down a teammate so someone else could shatter his nose! i highly doubt you would let that happen to someone you play with either.

Obiviously, any fighting is unacceptable. Holding people down and kicking them while they are down is terrible, especially for a spectator to have done that. Our opinion about Pirates not playing in the championship comes down to to many people were involved with fighting that would consitute atleast a one game suspension and after the fight had been separated Pirates could not be calmed down. This is a recreation sport and that was the best solution to avoid more problems.

I would have to agree with the "powers that be", any fight in a flag football game is retarded. If you guys want to fight go join a MMA club or something, this is supposed to be fun and in good sport. There is always big talk in these games and sometimes it escalates beyond that, but your team as a whole should see this and defuse the problem ASAP.

I should have responded to this a long time ago, but for clarification sake, I have a few comments.

1. In the future, we would greatly appreciate it if a post such as this could be toned down in terms of language, etc. I understand you were upset, but calling people names on the message board is inappropriate and it's actually indicative of what happened on the field as well.

2. NO ONE (and I mean NO ONE) can for one second, try to claim that this brawl was the fault of one team. Both teams participated in the brawl. There were numerous players from both teams who acted completely inappropriately, and even criminally.

3. For the record, according to the refs, the Pirates could have simply knelt down (let the clock run out) and this would not have happened, but you chose to run plays. That is not the refs fault.

4. After the initial brawl took place, the refs did everything they could to stop the fight and had it under control. They had written down a list of players who would not be eligible to play in the Championship game due to their involvement in the brawl or unsportsmanlike acts during the game. If it would have stopped right there, you would have been able to play in the championship game. However, it didn't stop. After the refs had everything under control, both teams decided to start going at it again (BOTH TEAMS, not one). I even witnessed a bunch of the Pirate's players following BAMF players into the street next to the field wanting to continue the brawl there. This whole thing was completely ridiculous. As others have pointed out..........OVER A RECREATIONAL FLAG FOOTBALL GAME. Completely immature and innapropriate by both teams. Since the brawl started again after the refs had it under control, there was nothing they could do at that point but to disqualify both teams.

5. The spectator who assaulted one of the players will be held accountable. One of the refs was smart enough to demand this person's driver's license, so his information was passed on to the police and he will be held accountable for his actions. I hope that this also serves as a warning/lesson to everyone in the league that spectators are an extention of the team. If you can't control your spectators then your team will be punished, whether it means penalties, suspensions, disqualification, etc.

6. One thing that was mentioned that is absolutely correct is that if things like this continue to happen, we may not have a flag football league anymore. The West Jordan Police Department is very frustrated with us because we have wasted valuable police resources on several occasions in the past few years over stupid, immature, ridiculous things like this over a recreational sport that is supposed to be for fun. They won't continue to put up with it. If it continues, they certainly will do something about it and I would hate to see such a successful and fun league disappear over the stupidity of a few individuals who can't keep themselves under control.

7. Lastly, this was not a one time issue with the Pirates. I hate to have to point this out, but there were several games where players from this team were penalized, ejected, and suspended for unsportsmanlike acts. Again, this is a recreational league that is meant to be fun and we won't tollerate this type of behavior. Since there were several games where players from this team had to be ejected for their actions, this tells me that they had a problem with certain players all year. My suggestion is to get rid of the trouble makers because you're going to have alot more fun if you can just come out, play football, and have fun, without having to be penalized, players ejected, and having to deal with all the drama that goes along with that. You were a very competitive team, but this is about having fun. Even if the trouble makers were some of the better players, it's not worth it to bring these guys. Some of the same guys who had been ejected in previous games were the same players who were throwing punches in this brawl and the same guys who wouldn't stop and let it go after the refs had it under control. Get rid of the trouble makers and I guarantee that you still have a competitive team, but you have a heck of alot more fun and you won't get disqualified in the semi-finals because some of the players let their emotions get the better of them.

8. I want to be clear that there were just as many players on both teams that were trying to stop the brawl (if not more) than those who were involved or making it worse. We do appreciate those players who were trying to get things under control. That is what we want to see. Unfortunately, in this case, there were just too many people on both sides that wouldn't let it go and the guys who were trying to stop it just couldn't do anything about it. Again, don't bring the trouble makers. Every team bears a responsibility for inappropriate actions of a select few if they invite these trouble makers. If you're going to invite these type of players who cause problems, then you're going to have to face the consequences of their actions.

9. As the one person pointed out, when a few players get out of control, it's the responsibility of the rest of the team to defuse the problem and get your teammates under control as quickly as possible. If half the team is trying to defuse the problem, but the other half is making it worse by joining in on the brawl then your team has failed in their responsibility.

10. Lastly, I truly hope that everyone learned from this and that nothing like this will happen again. I know there would be a whole lot of very disappointed players if we no longer were able to continue to offer an organized "recreational" flag football league.
