To the League Owners: Since the UFL joined up with the "other" league, this has been the worsed reffed games i have played in. I played in games where our team had to tell the refs what the score is because the refs are bs'ing with other teams, watching other games and just plain not paying attention. If they are getting paid to ref, shouldnt they ref? This is ridiculous! If they were officiating for free then there's no reason to complain, but their not! We pay to play and we play to have our games called fair. I know we make good calls and bad calls, but Hochuli is all over the place every week. I watched games that have just made me laugh because of the officiating. I would just recommend those officials that are getting paid to go through some sort of training. I think refs pick their favorites in games and again, isnt to fair

Thank you for your feedback. We are addressing the issue with the referees. I know of some issues with a couple of the referee's. Which referees are you speaking about, specifically? Since I don't get to see all of the games, I don't always get to see all of the referees. I have seen enough to know that it is not all of the ref's. Who are the poor officials? Which referee's are picking their favorites? All feedback is welcome.

I think the officiating has improved from past seasons, there are bumps here and there, and i think the problem is maybe being slightly understaffed? some refs don't take it as serious as others maybe that is the problem. I don't know much about b and c league or 5 on 5, but I do know that every ref seems to call things slightly differently, some let things go that others do not. I appreciate the refs doing the best that they can, and know they are doing a service to us. It is very difficult to be a ref especially when it is with teams that aren't quite sure what they are doing and expect certain things that they shouldn't. I know that refs can get frustrated when a team get after them, they are not paid professionals, they are paid for the weekend. I feel refs will always be a problem as long as there is competition in the league no matter how good they are.
Refs should flag anyone saying anything vulgar to them or the other team immediately, this would keep teams under compasure and have the captains to be able to approach them calmly. You would be amazed how they will listen to you when you respect them.
Some refs, not sure who, need to have the rules explained better, and pay more attention i agree, but ultimately i believe we as players need to understand that not every call is going to be made, and we need to live with it and move on to the next play. If it is obvious or blatent, then there may be a problem and captains should approach refs.
Understand that refs have emotions and don't take courses on how to deal with that, so don't make them mad. I am not saying they favor anyone, but it could happen.
the refs are changing and it is difficult to bring in a new guy and expect him to call everything, it takes time to get into the swing of things and understand the different angle of the game.
I appreciate the officiating and hope it continues to improve.

My 2 cents (but worth much less): I think the officiating is actually better... I think a lot less flags are being thrown and the ones that have been thrown, at least in games that I have played in, have been pretty obvious and should have been called... I won't say that the officials see everything or can for that matter and I know on some cases calls are missed for both sides... I do have to note that I was not there for our game against Quick 6 but from what I hear the official who called the game early cause he can't stand the heat of a competative game is a MORON... I have officiated my fair share of games this year as well and must say that as you move down from A to B to C Divisions the complaining and bitching increases A LOT (C more than B, B more than A) and I am not the first one to say or think this...
The best official in my opinion is Jake and I think the worst is Frank... just sayin'...

Oh and I really like the idea that Dallas threw out about flagging folk the minute someone gets vulgar to them or to a player... Most officials let this fly and that is when the games get out of hand...

Do ya'll remember those REFS in the "Rocky Mountian Showdown Tourny" out in Herriman awhile ago??
NOW those guys showed me REAL QUICK how these games should be called!
They didn't take no B/S & handled their business more accuratly then I have ever seen before!
Where did they come from?
Can you get them to come REF the 8 on 8 division A remaining playoff games?
That would be IDEAL if you ask me......
As for our regular refs, I see some common mistakes & on the other hand some GREAT calls.
So.... I'm on the fence with this one fellas......
Here's what I would do if I was calling the shots: Simply take out the refs that you feel are not doing their job & replace them with someone who can handle thier business with out none of that nonsense B/S. Hold a ref training class before/in the middle/towards the end of each season to keep them refreshed on their duties.
*On that vulgarity tip: I feel anyone who disrespects any oppsing player and/or ref should be flaged! And if it happens again removed from that current game. Negative attitudes on the field just cause unnessasary issues. If you got someone on your squad who can't control their "hot head" you more then likely don't NEED them playing in the game.
Now trash talking is part of tha game & it really don't do anything but pump eachother up to make that "big play" but there is a line when running your mouth out on that field!
"Treat others as you would prefer to be treated"
There is a HUGE differance between
COCKINESS & CONFIDENCE
Karma will eventually take care of the cocky players out there & we all know where pure confidence will get you.
Good luck to ALL the squads out there still alive for a championship!
I'm gone

What makes the officiating even worse is that the refs cover eachothers a$$'s when they make a bad call. Got called for face guarding saturday, which is not illegal, and even had steve come over and talk to the ref about it. Instead of making it right, steve said its a judgement call and it stood. Ended up losing because of the call.
Refs should stick with the rules they are givin, instead of changing them on the fly, and not admitting they are wrong

Train-10,
Just so you are aware Steve was not covering the other referee's "a$$". We have actually put in the rulebook challenges so that you may challenge if something is in the rules that a referee has missed. That sounds like what you did and Steve ruled in favor of the face guarding being a penalty. That is consistent with what other refs, including myself, have called up through now. It has been an interpretation of pass interference. The reason Steve deferred to it being a judgment call is because unless the play was actually seen by him, he would have to go to it being a judgment call of the referee who did see it. I personally have clarified/over ruled other refereeās to make sure the rule interpretation is correct. We are not here to cover each other we are here to maintain high quality for the league. I have researched your complaint and it is not specifically noted in our rulebook. We have always deferred to NFL rules if it is not specifically stated in our rulebook. I found mixed information and I am unable to discern one way or the other. There are a few rules we are going to be looking over and a few rule clarifications that need to be made. We will be including this to the list. I apologize for your dissatisfaction with the call. We are working to make the quality of refereeing better. I believe we are steadily improving and we will make a decision on that and other calls to keep increasing the quality of the refereeing.
I appreciate the feedback and I always welcome the feedback. That is the only way we know what we are doing right/wrong and can work on improving the league. Let me know if I can further clarify/answer your complaint.
